World Champion Coach Scott Kendricks Coaching Clinic

Vaulter Magazine – Vaulter Club Inc. would like to welcome you to the pole vaulting event of 2018 for all coaches and athletes alike.

Saturday June 9th, 2018 from 6-8pm and Sunday June 10th, 2018 from 9-11 am.

Coach Kendricks will speak about the ten things we learned on the way to the World Championships, Q and A, Video Clips, Handouts and more. Day two will consist of a more hands-on track side presentation and the training and tools that Coach K uses with his athletes.

Scott Kendricks began teaching and coaching track and field in 1999 at Oxford High School and ran a program that would win 11 State Championships in 14 years. During that time, Kendricks produced some of the top high school sprinters, high jumpers, relay teams and pole vaulters in the nation. Kendricks began working with his son Sam in their favorite event when Sam was in 7th grade. During those early years, Sam produced a high school best for the State of Mississippi of 17′ which still stands today.

While at Ole Miss the duo of “Coach K” and Sam won the NCAA Outdoor pole vault 2 times, The World University Games, the USATF Outdoor Pole Vault Championship. Sam had a collegiate best mark of 19’3/4″. Hoping to compete against the best in the world before the 2015 World Championships and 2016 Olympic Games, the duo decided to step out of the NCAA one year early. Since leaving the collegiate ranks early, Sam has won the USATF outdoor 4 times and Indoor title 3 times.

The duo continued to follow the “European model” of Coach and Athlete traveling and competing together, and their work produced a World Indoor Silver and an Olympic Bronze Medal in 2016 plus World Outdoor Gold in 2017 with a height of 19’5.5″. Sam and Coach K most recently combined to take the World Indoor Silver in 2018.
