Today was a huge pre-season day for Vaulter Club and the area high schools. First and foremost Alex Ungrady a junior beat her personal record and moved up to 11 ft and Jenna Portis a Freshman broke the Great Oak High School Freshman Record and beat her personal record she set last week by six inches to 9’6″. Ryan Polakiewicz had a great performance and past his personal record by jumping 15 ft. What an outstanding effort by all of these athletes.
The big news of the day is Jenna Portis from Great Oak high school. A freshman with a dream and a desire to break the girls high school record one day. She works and has the attitude to keep pressing the bar upwards. When it’s time for gymnastics, like Alex Ungrady, she is there. Now her dream is coming true by surpassing the record by six inches already. This is a story that comes down to hard work paying off. Dedication is a must! If you plan to do big things, then make big things happen.
Some of the results throughout the day are just coming in and so far they are looking great. Maddy Duong and Nick LaPierre took third place at the wildcat relays for varsity. Murrieta Mesa girls and boys both took second place.
So big things are sure to come with these great athletes, and with the hard work and dedication they will stand out amongst some of the best.
