Travel Team Reaches 57 Participants

Kids just want to pole vault and love the environment. That’s the buzz when you come to one of our meets here in Southern California. Growing substantially from last year, Vaulter Magazine – Vaulter Club launched their first meet for the 2016 Fall / Winter Travel Team. It was a spooky event with a Halloween themed competition.

The program is working, and as we head to 75 athletes actively participating, we eventually break the teams up into brackets to maintain the level of professionalism for 2017. Few of our big names this year are San Diego State University, Dean Starkey Ranch, Arizona, Reno Pole Vault Summit and Mt.SAC after Thanksgiving.

If it weren’t for the heat and lack of wind on Saturday, the meet would have been flawless. Mid-day the heat was right at about 80, and the vaulters handled it with no problem at all.
Watching some of the best boys around is always treat! Making 16’3″ look natural, and that’s just a start for the boys. For the girl’s side, we topped out at 11’6, ” and that’s ideal for starting the season out right.

The 2016 California State Boys High School Champion was on hand watching the show and taking in the excitement. Always good to see top notch individuals come out in support of this great event. The designer of the “Swing Up Rack” and the “Topper” www.advantageathletics.com and the head coach at Mt. SAC was at the meet viewing the athletes and enjoying the show.

The cost is $5 for all participants and spectators to come and support a great cause. The next meet will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the following location:
Del Norte High School San Diego
16601 Nighthawk Ln, San Diego, CA 92127

Please contact www.vaulter.club for more information about this great event and how you can participate or advertise.
