Pole Vault Summit Review – Jenny Wartinbee Qualifies for the 2016 USATF Indoor Championships

(Temecula, California) Vaulter Club (a Temecula Pole Vault and Track and Field Club) completed it’s final competition with the travel circuit by pole vaulting at the Reno Pole Vault Summit sponsored by UCS- Spirit. This was an annual trip that the club made to partake in all of the fun and excitement that the event has to offer for the pole vaulting community. This was also the last of eight competitions that the travel team participated in to wrap up the fall / winter season.

This event is like no other with 14 pole vault pits and a few thousand pole vaulters wanting to learn from some of the best in the sport. When you talk to the kids and parents alike, they have some of the most fond times at this event.  Like stated previously, if you are not at or eventually going to the Summit as a club team, you should ask your team why. That also goes for any individual pole vaulter that is serious about the sport. This is the place to be and be seen by some of the best college and pro coaches around.

Many of the athletes met or came close to a new personal record and a few did complete the task while they were there. All in all this was a fun event that brought the team together stronger then ever.

All ages are allowed to come and compete at the event and many classes are offered for the youngsters and parents as well. There are coaching classes for all levels and abilities so that the individual has the opportunity to get polished up on their skills.

For our Elite side of our club we have Jenny Wartinbee that jumped at he Summit and placed a 4.30m mark, which qualifies her for the 2016 USATF Indoor Championships. This is a National event where the best of the best come together and pole vault. Held in Portland, Oregon on March 11 and 12, 2016. This will for sure showcase some of the best jumping in the Nation in one location.

Long story short, the indoor season or Fall and Winter season for the club was just as good as we expected for the pole vaulters.  We started training in September with their first meet November 5, 2015, and finished the season with a big indoor meet in Reno on January 16, 2016. Vaulter Magazine – Vaulter Club had a total of nine travel teams that competed for the top spot in Southern California. The Higher Flyers out of Huntington Beach ended up winning the trophy and taking it back to the club until the Fall of 2016 when the circuit starts back up again.

Keep your eyes out for more information on the Vaulter Magazine – Vaulter Club Southern California Summer Nights program throughout the summer of 2016. This will give the kids a pole vault summer they always wanted to have.
