Fears, Pepito, Hansen, and Chew Become League Champions; Eight Qualify for Prelims

In the Southern section, Aspen Fears, Austin Pepito, Kendall Chew, and Paige Hansen have all emerged as champions of their respective leagues, showcasing their exceptional skills and hard work. Their remarkable victories have paved the way for EIGHT athletes from Vaulter Club to move on to the next round of CIF. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at these talented athletes’ journeys, their winning performances, and the strategies that helped them achieve their league titles.

Aspen Fears secures her second Southwestern League Finals title, vaulting 12’10” with exceptional skill and precision. Her impressive feat, achieved both as a freshman and junior, demonstrates her unwavering dedication to the sport.

Austin Pepito shatters the high school senior record, clearing 15’7″ to claim victory at the Southwest League Finals. His outstanding performance showcases his exceptional talent and hard work, solidifying his place as one of the top high school vaulters in the region.

Austin and Aspen’s remarkable achievements are a testament to their unwavering commitment, dedication, and hard work. Both athletes have invested a great deal of time and effort in perfecting their craft, consistently training with Vaulter Club to reach their full potential. Earlier this year, Aspen demonstrated her impressive skills by clearing 11′ from her three-step approach, while Austin put in tremendous effort to clear 15′ from a five-step approach, showcasing his grit and determination.

Kendall Chew emerges as the 2023 Pacific Coast Champion, setting a new personal record at the meet with a remarkable vault of 11’4″. Her outstanding performance demonstrates her exceptional skills and hard work, solidifying her position as one of the top contenders in the region.

Paige Hansen claims her third consecutive league title, emerging as the 2023 River Valley League Champion with an impressive vault of 11’0″. Her outstanding performance showcases her exceptional skills and dedication to the sport, cementing her position as one of the top vaulters in the league.

Paige and Kendall’s remarkable accomplishments are a result of their tireless effort and dedication towards their goals. Both athletes participated in our winter camp back in November, and have continued to push their limits through consistent and rigorous training.

Evan Kim 2023 League Runner-Up

Madisyn Negro, last year’s league champion and current league record holder, delivers an impressive performance at the meet, securing the runner-up position with a remarkable vault of 12’10”. Her outstanding skills and dedication to the sport continue to make her a strong contender in the league.

As a senior, she’s off to college up in Washington State where she’ll continue to perfect her craft.

Evan Kim steals the show with a stunning performance at the meet, seeded in 5th place but securing a double personal record to clinch second place with an exceptional vault of 12’10”. His outstanding achievement demonstrates his talent and determination, making him a force to be reckoned with in the region.

Evan Kim is one of our newest athletes who joined our group, and with a few adjustments and the right equipment, he was able to clear bar after bar with ease. His remarkable progress and success demonstrate the effectiveness of our coaching methods and the potential of hardworking athletes

Katie Rodriguez, last year’s third-place finisher, secures a spot in the next round with a solid vault of 11’10”, placing fourth in this year’s competition. Although she just missed out on third place due to a few misses, her remarkable performance demonstrates her skill and determination to succeed in the sport.

Katie will continue her effort in college next year in Boston, where she’ll continue to hone her craft.

Kate Suemnick secures fifth place in the league with an impressive vault of 10’10”. Her outstanding performance also earns her a spot in the next round of CIF, demonstrating her hard work and dedication to the sport.

What do all of these amazing athletes have in common?

These athletes embody qualities of dedication, motivation, and a strong desire to be the best in their sport. Their hard work, heart, drive, perseverance, courage, and faith have led them to remarkable achievements. In addition to their individual strengths, they have access to a great workout plan, state-of-the-art facilities, and a coaching family with a winning DNA, all contributing to their success.
