About us

Welcome to Vaulter Club

Please note this written policy that Vaulter Club addresses its commitment to keep children safe from sexual abuse by preventing, recognizing and responding to situations both on and off the playing field that in any way compromises their safety.

Vaulter Club has a unique approach and understanding of the meaning of pole vaulting. The direction for establishing and having a fun and meaningful pole vaulting track and field club.

We love the sport of pole vault, and this is why we started Vaulter Magazine for the enthusiast that follows the sport. After a summer of fun-filled FREE Summer Camp, the kids involved decided that we needed to start up our pole vaulting track and field club servicing the Inland Empire, San Diego, Southern California areas in September of 2015. After listening to their suggestions about the lack of quality clubs in Southern California, with a serious approach to pole vault, we started what you see today. We want to bring our experiences from around the world to Southern California.

Our Vision

Vaulter Club is located in a unique and desirable area of Southern California known as Menifee and Murrieta.

Our training is a few miles away from the Promenade Mall in Temecula / Murrieta and a short distance from some of the best wine tasting in the world. (Yes, the world) So drop your athlete off for pole vault training and make the best of your day. We love training our young athletes as well as our Master’s Vaulters and feel that our club would be an outstanding fit for the master that wants to get out and get some pole vaulting done.

We are not necessarily looking for the best athlete; we are looking for a dedicated athlete with the qualities to be the best!

Meet the Coaches

Doug Bouma –

Head Coach, Founder of Vaulter Magazine – Vaulter Club Inc., Vaulter Club, Varsity Pole Vault Coach Murrieta Valley High School, Murrieta, California.

Bio – Doug spent 20 years in the Marine Corps and once he retired as a Gunnery Sergeant he decided to take advantage of his G.I. Bill and head back to college. While earning his degree in Business Administration, he decided to polish up his magazine company named Vaulter Magazine, a magazine dedicated to the sport of pole vaulting around the world (2012). Born and raised in Wyoming, there were no pole vault or high jump pits in existence in his hometown back in the 1980s, so Doug ran the 100, 4×100, long jump, and cross country.

Doug does not proclaim to be a master at the sport of pole vaulting or have any stories about his lustrous career vaulting; he leaves that all to the athletes that he trains. Doug is a coach, not a pole vaulter, and takes that title proud and has done so for many years. Doug got into the sport the same way that he started the magazine. Doug and his son traveled to the Olympic Training Center and fell in love with the sport while training. Stacy Dragila coached Doug’s son Derek through the 11th grade, and once Doug stated that he would be assisting his son in learning to pole vault for his high school, Stacy Dragila took the time to train and mentor Doug on how to coach the basics in high school athletes. Hours and hours of training videos and a treasure trove of information were established between the trio.

It’s been one heck of a crazy ride over the last couple of years, and we have no plans of slowing down soon. Typically, our athletes are homegrown athletes coached directly from our club; we like to stay dedicated to our athletes and expect the same dedication from them. As we stated above, “We are not necessarily looking for the best athlete; we are looking for the dedicated athlete with the qualities to be the best!”
